Psychic and mediumistic development is a deeply personal journey.

I don't believe developing your psychic or mediumistic awareness is about learning to work exactly like somebody else, collecting techniques or constantly trying to get everything right.

For me, it is about discovery.

It is about learning to recognise your own energy, becoming sensitive to subtle changes within your awareness and beginning to understand the unique way in which your psychic and mediumistic faculties work for you.

My role as a teacher is not to teach you to become a version of me and no good teacher should!

It is to help illuminate your potential.

The language of your own life

I believe mediumship is a creative expression of the soul.

The spirit world communicates through our awareness, but that communication has to pass through us. Our memories, emotions, experiences, associations and the way we personally understand the world can all become part of the language through which communication is expressed.

A song may mean something completely different to you than it does to somebody else. A particular feeling, place, image, memory or experience may carry an association that belongs entirely to your own life.

That is why I don't believe mediumship can ever be completely reduced to a formula.

We each have our own language.

And every spirit communicator is an individual too — with their own personality, memories, relationships, experiences and way of expressing themselves.

Mediumship therefore becomes a meeting between two individual expressions of consciousness.

For me, learning to understand that relationship is one of the most fascinating parts of development.

Learning how your awareness works

There are foundations that can be taught.

We can explore psychic awareness, energy, the intuitive senses, attunement, sitting in the power, evidential mediumship, communication and the difference between psychic and mediumistic information.

Those foundations matter enormously.

But teaching is only part of development.

At some point, you need the space to experience it for yourself.

To experiment. To notice. To question. To get things wrong. To discover what happens when you try something differently. To recognise patterns in your own awareness and gradually become more confident in understanding what you are receiving.

Sometimes the greatest breakthroughs happen when we stop trying so hard to reproduce somebody else's experience and become curious about our own.

Experience over performance

My classes, circles and workshops are therefore built around experience rather than performance.

Of course there will be teaching, structure and guidance, but I also want to create the space for exploration.

Mediumship isn't an examination.

You don't need to prove anything to me.

I want you to be able to ask questions, experiment with your awareness, make mistakes and have those wonderful moments where something happens that you weren't expecting.

Because that is often where understanding begins.

The aim is not simply to tell you how mediumship works.

It is to help you begin understanding how mediumship works through you.

A sacred responsibility

For me, mediumship is sacred work.

When we open ourselves to communication with the spirit world, we may be entrusted with somebody's memories, relationships, personality, experiences and love.

And on the other side of that communication may be somebody for whom that connection carries enormous emotional significance.

That deserves respect.

So alongside experimentation, confidence and creativity, I believe the development of mediumship must include evidence, ethics, sensitivity, boundaries and personal responsibility.

It isn't simply about whether we can perceive something.

We must also learn how to work with what we perceive sensitively, responsibly and in service to both the spirit communicator and the person receiving the communication.

Strong foundations create freedom

I place particular importance on psychic development because I believe understanding our own awareness gives us the foundations from which mediumship can grow.

Before we can confidently recognise something that feels different from ourselves, it helps to become familiar with ourselves.

What does my own energy feel like?

How does my awareness change when I become sensitive to another person?

How do thoughts, feelings, images, memories and impressions appear within my consciousness?

And what changes when the spirit world draws close?

The better we come to understand our own awareness, the more confidently we can begin exploring what lies beyond it.

The foundations aren't there to put you into a box.

They are there to eventually give you the freedom to step outside one.

Unfolding your potential

Above everything else, I want to create spaces where people feel able to explore.

Spaces where curiosity is encouraged, individuality is respected and comparison is left at the door.

I love watching somebody begin to recognise something within themselves that perhaps they had never completely trusted before.

That moment of:

“Oh… maybe I can do this.”

And then helping them explore where that potential might lead.
